KIRKUS REVIEW

Detective Sammy Golden and his irrepressible friend, Father Shanley, loop through show, drug and church business. They start off with a dead woman, a dead wet-back and wind up with two burlesque queens, the used car racket as a front for narcotics pipeline -- and more killings. The fighting, praying Padre righthands Golden's lonewolfing so that right, plus more than a little might, is in. Good deal, awkward angles.
