WHOLE-BRAIN THINKING: Working from Both Sides of the Brain to Achieve Peak Job Performance

Split-brain theory applied to business management--via exercises to help analytical left-dominants and intuitive right-dominants shift between hemispheres and develop whole-brain strategies. A lot of folderol? No--but a considerable theoretical work-up, reflecting Donovan's association with Denver's Biofeedback Institute; an array of problem-solving techniques, with some situational input from Denver management-consultant Wonder; and innumerable brief examples of putting precept into practice on the job. What it is, in short, is a lot of rigamarole. First, you take the Brain Preference Indicator Test (yes, blanks to fill in). Then, apprised of your BPI on a scale of I (all-analytical) to 10 (all-intuitive), you start in on the step-by-step exercise problems. Typically, these combine valid insights or understandings with a program of self-instruction and increasingly mechanistic applications. (How, for instance, to progress from remembering dreams to programming dreams to solve specific business problems). As a spur to unaccustomed thinking, OK--but both logic and intuition would suggest a selective sampling.
