Episodes from twenty ancient and medieval classics, Gilgamesh to Gawain, are retold in a trite style replete with solecisms (""whippersnappers"" and ""Mother, this is intolerable "" in the Egyptian legend of Horus and Set). Abbreviated and detached from their settings as many of these are, they have little potential impact anyhow. And most are widely available.
