KIRKUS REVIEW

For fairy tale lovers here is excellent stuff -- a collection of the lesser known tales, freely translated and illustrated by bold pictures characteristic of the creator of Millions of Cuts. There are some favorites here, too,- The Sleeping Beauty, for instance; but in addition there are The Sorcerer's 'Apprentice, The Shoemaker and the ives and many others. The flavor of the original is held while some of the grimness and overweighted morality is removed.
