COUNT RUMFORD OF MASSACHUSETTS

By

Pub Date: Oct. 14th, 1935
Publisher: Farrar & Rinehart

Authentic material about a little known character of the period of the American Revolution. An American who deserted the cause of the Colonies, became a British spy, served with the British troops. He lived, thereafter, in England and on the Continent, pursuing his scientific researches, establishing commercially some of his own inventions, serving as minister to Bavaria, and keeping his daughter from a normal, happy life. Thoroughly documented and interspersed with extracts from his own writings and those of contemporaries. Not inspired and cannot see a wide sale.
