KIRKUS REVIEW

Corporal Downey, of the Northwest Mounted again officiating in a traditionally reliable tale of mystery-adventure. Halvorsen kills his brother Einor and frames Red Hollis for the deed in order to marry Irene, whose father is in his debt. Red escapes, follows one scant lead to the dark past of the Halvorsens, and returns with his story as Downey produces evidence to clear him and solve the murder. Death in the rough North.
