THE HUNDREDTH ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY

By

Publisher: Harper & Row

In the closing paragraph of this book on Arthur Michael Ramsey, the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury, James B. Simpson, a professional writer and journalist, writes ""there is every possibility that Michael Ramsey will be regarded within his own lifetime, as a brilliant leader of men and one of the great Archbishops of Canterbury"". If you were not convinced of this possibility before reading Simpson's frankly admiring biography you should be when you put it down. Michael Ramsey comes across in this brief biography as dynamic and dedicated and in his own words ""a lot of the Non-Conformist and a lot of the Anglican"". This little book not only outlines the interesting life of the Archbishop but has many fascinating details about English church life. For the Anglican it is interesting ""must"" reading; for others interesting reading about a very important office and person on the world's Christian stage.
