KIRKUS REVIEW

In rather choppy ""journalese"" style, James C. Young presents the whole panorama of the Roosevelt administration, through the death of Long, and -- without actually going in for critical commentary, he manages to shoot it full of holes from start to finish. He gives the impression, for a few brief moments, that he felt Roosevelt had a chance, and missed it; by the time one finishes reading the whole text, one feels that Young never gave him a break. Made to order for the anti-administration forces -- incontrovertible ammunition, as presented.
