PET PARROT by James Cressey

PET PARROT

Another trifle from England like Max the Mouse (above), this purports to be the parrot's own account of being trapped in the jungle by a sneaky hunter, ending up with a family across the sea (presumably England), and, later, helping the family by tracking a burglar--who turns out to be the same sneaky hunter. The most noticeable feature of Cole's cartoons is the googly eyes on all concerned--a desperate touch that doesn't fit with Cressey's flat, take-it-or-leave-it narration.
