KIRKUS REVIEW

Revelations from the Pinkerton files, these are stories of two groups of outlaws, the Wild Bunch and Butch Cassidy, and Jesse James and his gang. The James' family background, guerilla activities during the Civil War, successful careers in bank robbery, the pay-off in the Northfield robbery which sent them into hiding. Less colorful terms than usual -- they are shown as cold-blooded, ruthless killers....The Wild Bunch are less well known, this gang that terrorized Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, as cattle rustlers, bank and train robbers, etc. Fascinating true western.
