THE RECOVERY OF HUMANITY

The sermons in this volume deal with a variety of subjects, but they have one central theme. This Presbyterian preacher believes that the great issue of today is that of humanity vs. inhumanity. ""The stronghold of inhumanity is the unconquered human self,"" he asserts, and, further, ""Only a God-centeredness, in which God conquers and becomes sovereign of man's whole existence, can secure in him a true humanity"". This God-centeredness can be achieved only by laying hold of certain great convictions basic to the teaching of the Bible. The sermons are therefore expository and doctrinal, the author believing that people today are too seldom exposed to the great ideas of the Bible. He even ventures to include a sermon on ""Justification by Faith"", and another on ""Predestination."" Solid material, ably organized and presented.
