STOKER BUSH

Pretty poor stuff -- sordid -- unpleasant -- and lacking the power of The Furies and of Boy. The setting is again the dock side slums of Liverpool, with characters drawn from the scum and dregs, the families of men in the lower brackets of seamanship. The story revolves around a stoker who discovers his wife's faithlessness, and does something-but not enough -- about it.
