BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD

People who prefer to have the meaning of passages in the Gospels highlighted to give them a more direct opportunity to reflect on excerpts from the Word of God will be pleased with the result of Father Murray's efforts. To this extent Behold the Lamb of God is an unusual book of meditation. The author allows the words to speak for themselves. Father Murray merely organizes them in a way to identify Christ's life and actions. Texts illustrating His teaching on the related matter follow. Many of the quotations are truncated but this appears to be deliberate on the part of the author in order to persuade the reader to learn to know the Gospels and to get them to read the full Bible more prayerfully. Those who are committed to regular meditation will undoubtedly find this novel approach worth-while and a change of pace, but somehow it leaves a fooling of hodge-podge. Even so, this pinpointing of Christ's personal character from an examination of the words of the Gospel will be viewed by some readers as a different type of meditation material.
