This teen-age novel is a carbonated account of a high school ""steady"" relationship. It combines a slangy, snappy style with occasional apt and acid insights into human nature. Leo Morris, Junior Class President, and Viki Baker, Prom Chairman, find the new Junior Class adviser, Mr. Tenterhook, to be somewhat overwhelming in his insistence on a Constitutional theme for the prom. He is also stubborn about the method for raising the funds for it -- only by labor-for-hire. Troubled romance and organizational problems beset the pair, but all ends well. The amazing Mr. Summers has ups and, (in the case of this book) downs.
