TOMMY CARRIES THE BALL

This book should prove one of the easiest books to sell on Fall juvenile lists. The author is Ohio State's director of athletic publicity, and he ( and his wife ) have succeeded in writing a how-to-do book about small boy football, which should prove a bonanza for nine and ten year olds, and a godsend for parents who aren't up on the fundamentals themselves. A good story, but this is secondary to the factual content, as Tommy learns how to grip, how to catch, how to throw, how to tackle and block -- and what the fundamental principles are of the game they all love to watch and love to play.
