Trick title to catch the unwary. Rush job, based largely on the writings and speeches of De Gaulle. Starts off with brief biographical sketch, then outlines his advocacy of mechanized force years prior to the war. Then from theory to action, where -- at Abbeville -- he proved to be the only general with stamina and vision, defeated only by the too ready capitulation of the Fascist facade. Then England, where he represents the French Army of Free Men. The final pages voice the theme of the title -- if and when Britain has her full quota of tanks and planes, she will invade Germany and win. Slim pickings -- keyed to the headlines.
