AS GOOD AS MURDERED

A goodish idea spoiled by not so goodish writing. A California scrivener works out a snappy mystery plot, lands in a situation where he can follow his own advice, and ends up in the jail for murder. Having made suicide look like murder, he finds his employers not helpful, but he escapes from jail and with the help of his wife, an avid mystery-reader, he sets out to prove his innocence and get his man. Light-hearted, speedy, with some screwball moments, it is fun, but not fair.
