KIRKUS REVIEW

A no-nonsense approach to nutrition, by a Professor at the University of Toronto, discusses the right selection of foods for health and for pleasure, dismisses prevailing notions (milk is not the perfect food), and discards- perhaps too summarily- the connection between certain degenerative diseases (heart- fats) and certain foods. The specific nutritional virtues and values of meats, fruits, grains, etc., are indicated; so are the proper diets for children, or for adults who are overweight. And people- Gayelord Hauser, Leland Kordel, even Adelle Davies, as well as pills- Vitamins, etc., -are exposed and disposed of. A sound regimen -- in few words but they are forthright.
