Falconry is- we are told- of growing interest to boys at the scout age. There's a great deal of sound content material on the subject, not only of training hawks for hunting, but of some of the side values experience with them teaches. And this story of the southern Appalachians has packed it in. There's adventure, too, as the boys with an older man are marooned by a landslide, and have to use all their outdoor lore. Perhaps the content will outweigh the rather contrived plot and thin characterization.
