MARTIN AND HIS FRIEND FROM OUTER SPACE

Trick photography combines again with a fanciful story to make another engaging book by the authors of The Secret of Two Feathers (1954). Martin, the boy in the other book, is the central figure again and this time his adventures start when he builds a Tele-Spacer set out of some old radio tubes and a piece of meteor. Calling Saturn, Martin is surprised with an answer from Aknele Alpha, a girl his age who lives on one of Saturn's moons. When she comes to Earth for a visit, they have some fascinating things to tell each other, which if not grounded in fact, have a certain logic that broadens perspectives. There is trouble too with Aknele Alpha's golden hair, necessary for her return, which a stranger tries unsuccessfully to steal.
