KIRKUS REVIEW

It's an ageless theme-- successful dragon slaying-- but the McCreas employ the understatement of the folk tale genre in an original way, and surround their text with neatly drawn woodblockish illustrations. It's sparsely worded and sparsely peopled (there are Sir Egbert and Sir Charles as the only two Knights, and Olaf the Pageboy) artistically printed and designed by the co-authors of The King's Procession (1963, p. 101, J-35)-- which had a similar, distinctive format.
