Not to be confused with the other popular shrink (see above) -- although it hardly matters. Both their couches creak. Like bargain basement merchandise, the advice from the author of The Thin Book by a Formerly Fat Psychiatrist, promises more than it delivers. Whether writing about boredom, love, sexual identity, depression, marijuana, etc., the message is always the same: love one another and communicate better. There's not much here to help the truly troubled -- and for the rest of us, there's always Dear Abby.
