The author of Crock of Gold and Irish Fairy Tales is represented by a collection of poetry which covers a large range, sometimes lyrical, sometimes ironic, sometimes brooding, sometimes humorous; it is also, in effect, a miniature of the Collected Poems in that it follows the same groupings and headings. The arrangement is less pointed than in most juvenile anthologies but the reader who wanders among the reflections on nature and love, the comic domestic situations, the lively characterizations and brief parables, will likely find along ""the crooked paths go(ing) every way. . . --Something/Lying/On the ground,/In the bottom/Of my mind.
