KIRKUS REVIEW

Sibling squabbling is a whole new show when it's performed by Stevenson's expressive, flipper-wielding walrus family. Winston, Newton, and Elton bicker, throw fish (their supper) at each other, lose the fish in the water, and blame each other when Mama steps in. Their mother supplies more fish on the condition that they settle down and behave, and it seems that they do--but we leave them arguing about which one has been the most polite. There's another story about Ed, a stranded penguin, who writes snow messages for the birds and is rewarded with a whaleback ride home. Thin stories, but Stevenson's loose drawings make his characters appealingly laughable.
