THE STRONG NAME

Dr. Stewart has kept his detachment, his power, his conviction in the midst of bombs. One feels that these pages carry the conviction of a spiritual ascendancy which is upholding the British today, a faith that moves mountains, that prefers the freedom of death to the slavery of the soul. It is a great book and a hard one to criticize. It is easy and inspired reading: it sounds a note of victory, of Resurrection, of a new life, though perhaps a different one. As we read, we grow more and more aware of a feeling of awe, as in the presence of a great soul, a rare masterpiece. Dr. Stewart has written a great book for these times.
