There is no doubt that these short, inspiring, practical essays will have the threefold effect intended by their author. Their content and style are well adapted to help the reader participate better in the Mass through a better comprehension of the practical lessons contained in the Epistles read on Sundays and feasts days. They are also well suited for mental prayer, inspired as they are by the thought of St. Paul, and they should serve as a stimulus to the reading of the New Testament itself. These are pointed essays written in a popular, personal, journalistic style, expressing insights and practical counsels suggested, in the main, by the Epistles of St. Paul. Readers of the author's column in America, entitled, ""The Word"", will relish this material. Others are apt to be just as impressed.
