FLYING FURY

When James T. B. McCudden, V.C., D.S.O., M.M. and Croix de Guerre, Major, Royal Air Force, went down on July 9, 1918, it was not to enemy fire but engine failure. He was then twenty-two, fourth ranking Ace on the unofficial British Empire list of the Great War, victor of fifty-seven air battles with the Germans. He called his reminiscences ""The Bolo Book""; they cover five years in the Royal Air Force, appear here as an Air Combat Classic in the Ulanoffedited series.
