GREENHOUSE GARDENING AS A HOBBY

So you're going to have a greenhouse and need practical advice from the choice of the site, the construction of your greenhouse, to the sources of plants, what you can grow, lists- with descriptive matter, what to do and when to do it. This is the most complete and down to earth book of all I have seen. The pros and cons of materials for construction and the comparative costs are here; there is specific information on the whys and hows of heating systems, watering, humidification, lighting, even emergency measures. There is discussion of soils, of potting procedures, of fertilizers, of various ways in which to grow plants and increase them. There is- in addition to the section devoted to the wide range of plants to grow a special section on orchids. There is advice on the battle against insects and diseases. And there is the calendar of what to do and when. The text will be illustrated with halftones and line cuts.
