KIRKUS REVIEW

Two mottoes might be culled from these pages:- ""Strive to get on common ground with your audience"" and ""True art in speech making squares with character"". The chapter headings indicate the scope (Find Your Audience, Find Your Message, Organize Your Speech, Develop your Points Effectively, Make a Good Beginning, Close Your Speech Effectively, Handle Yourself Well on the Platform). Excellent handbook, with sound advice, practical examples, enough emphasis, repetition and stress to drive home the points. Occasionally overwritten and lush, but thoroughly dependable.
