SHORT BOW'S BIG MEDICINE

I found this pretty dull reading, a long drawn out story of the battle a white trader made against the overwhelming acceptance of belief in the power of a love spell. tribal wars, economic upsets, all hung on the relations between the power of Short Bow and his medicine to conquer the girl of another tribe who hated and feared him. The period was towards the end of the buffalo herds; the place, near the Missouri. Authentic enough in background, but a slow story.
