Grace hates her life as the daughter of a famous actress. No friends her own age, and her family consists of Constance, Toffee and Camilla, her mother, tutor and nanny, respectively. Poor unfortunate Grace is excited to be headed to Martha’s Vineyard for a quiet summer. Immediately upon her arrival, she realizes that this is where her mother went to high school and the chances are good to find out more about her completely unknown father. This familiar plot desperately needs the element of the lifestyles of the rich and famous, but what readers get is illogical behavior on the part of almost every character. Grace gets a job from a stranger in the grocery store, a fabulous haircut unavailable in Beverly Hills from a local beautician and dares to pierce her ears with nary a whimper from Constance. Will Father be discovered and will he be worthy? Can Grace cope with normal teenagers? Does anybody care? Possibly Entertainment Tonight addicts and Teen People readers will find comfort in familiar territory. (Fiction. YA)
