THE MUFFLETUMP CHRISTMAS PARTY

The trunk containing Wahl's doll family is moved to the cold garage when the Bediggians go away for Christmas, workmen come to renovate the attic where they had been stored, and lonely old Lulu Entwhistle moves in as house-sitter. But the four Muffletumps soon manage to sneak back into the house, and the story moves predictably from their scurrying about for tea and cookies while a perplexed Lulu stumbles over their leavings to their consoling the old lady with Christmas decorations and a party--all without saying a word or making an independent motion in her presence. Old stuff in leftover wrapping--and even friends of the Ardizzone Muffletumps won't recognize Szekeres' incarnations.
