KIRKUS REVIEW

Period 1858 -- the story of the mystery of Decy Quinn. Decy and her father lived on an Erie Canal boat. She was sent to school to be a lady but ran away to the boat again, and joined the troopers her father had collected as passengers. Kidnapped by a stranger -- and more adventures follow. It seems a bit overladen with incident, but is good reading throughout.
