THE INHERITORS

Wick Middleford, executor of old Uncle Josh's will that requires his heirs to settle on his country place for three months, gets his hearts and hands full with the relatives who come to stick out their tenure for reasons other than the inheritance. Jennie uses the summer on the farm to face up to herself and defy her meddlesome sister. Enid also asserts herself and wins the heart of a young painter. The third heir commits suicide while held for illegalities, and his daughter is shipped home by her foster parents. Jennie stays on and is left with Wick to settle up the inheritance.... Not a windfall, but a rental piggybank.
