Off in a backwoods parish, Darragh provokes some tongue-wagging by her championship of Gladdie, town bad girl, and Leaf, a Lothario. A scandal at the close, and John stands by Darragh, realizing how his caution and inhibitions have made him a bad preacher and a bad husband -- and he reforms. Moral market.
