JOUR A LA FOIRE

This uncomplicated tale about a wiry-furred cat who is joined by other gay animals going to a fair is narrated in very simple French. The French words are repeated again and again, a new word being added each time another creature joins the group, and the young listener will doubtless pick up some of the vocabulary after his hearing the story a few times. The artist has used odd shades of green, orange and pink in a highly effective manner, in his stylized, gently humorous creations which make this an enchanting book.
