F WASHINGTON SQUARE by Jane Kramer

F WASHINGTON SQUARE

By

Publisher: Duell, Sloan & Pearce

A scrapbook of diminutive sketches, interviews, etc. (presumably from the Village Voice) views some of the phenomena of the cool world (fuzzy faces, fuzzier thinking?). From The Five Spot to The Deux Megots, from a hip party for Robert Gover to obsequies held for that four letter word ****, this gets squarer as it moves uptown- with comments on Marcel Marceau, the cast of Beyond the Fringe, Dali, etc. etc. Miss Kramer (now on The New Yorker) writes very pleasantly and there's a real snap to her annotated geography of the Park. Mostly ultra-urban, downtown in appeal. Like dig habitants and habitues.
