KIRKUS REVIEW

This is an example of the kind of book that sacrifices zest and spirit to the goal of easy reading. A quiet country story recounts the adventures of a little girl who takes a trolling trip around a Connecticut lake and winds up helping a neighbor control a fire and catching a record bass. Simple vocabulary-with Peggy Bacon illustrations providing the atmosphere.
