ONKEY ISLAND

Zippo the monkey peered at the children who peered at him on his zoo-island home. He was unhappy because he wanted to know what the children did when they left the zoo. Quietly he satisfies his curiosity, and returns eagerly to his home. The black and white illustrations picture monkeys and children with accuracy, but lack zip as does the bland, sparkless text. An unmomentous work by an author who has been prolific for the past fifteen years.
