KIRKUS REVIEW

A dog story with a new angle- with a good northland setting- and unusual in that it is not wholly happy in its outcome. For Jerry's pet husky turned out to be closer to his wild ancestors than to the farm dog Jerry wanted him to be. Jerry, too, is painted in very credible terms, -- resentful of the move from city to country, spoiled in the selfish demands he makes, terrified of his pet's danger signals which charted all too well the path he would follow. That the characterization doesn't quite live up to its initial drawing doesn't prevent this from being a superior tale.
