Last year Jane Sherman did a swell job in The Real Book 'About Bugs, Insects and Such, but we are put out with this odd and rather unconnected assortment of data, no matter how absorbing each particular item may be. With a warning in the introduction that single facts do not give the whole picture- the author proceeds with her book of single facts. There are limiting categories- the ocean, the land, the sky, mammals, insects, vegetation, etc. but within each of the order of notation is willy nilly, making this not much more than odd moment reading.
