THE REAL BOOK ABOUT DOGS

A sensible, step-by-step handbook for the young dog fancier and especially the prospective owner. How to choose a dog, and the procedure for caring for a new puppy are discussed simply, with a firm emphasis on ""what to do, when"" rather than on theory. We were particularly pleased with the exact schedule for puppy and dog daily care which encourages the child to take full responsibility for his animal. The necessary rules for training and care encourage the exercise of kindness and good sense, yet discourage over-enthusiastic amateurs when veterinary and adult intervention is required. Also included a glossary of dog terms and a section devoted to doggy pleasantries and representative breeds.
