THE MOUSE ON THE FOURTEENTH FLOOR

Another small creature causes great confusion in this lackluster account of Marvelous the Mouse's journey from farm to factory to supermarket to a helicopter through fourteen floors of apartments, and back home again. Marvelous has the usual mouse-adventures en route, and though the trappings, like a rent strike, are contemporary, there are discordant stereotypes: Mrs. Klinkie, who ""was stout and loved to cook."" The lifeless illustrations are no help.
