CLEVER RACCOON

Here we have Squirrel and Chipmunk, who live in a garden--planted with corn. And Skunk and Raccoon, who live outside--as does Mrs. Raccoon (she's distinctly an appendage here). For some reason, Squirrel and Chipmunk (and maybe Skunk too) are apprehensive that Raccoon will eat the corn. The People's neighbor warns them that raccoons will eat the corn. When Raccoon has a nibble, they put up a fence; when he (and Mrs. R.) climb over the fence, they follow the neighbor's suggestion and install a radio. Instead of scaring Raccoon away, it sets all the animals to dancing. So the People try a trap--which catches first Squirrel, then Chipmunk, then Skunk. . . but not Raccoon: ""Mrs. Raccoon was holding up the trapdoor with her clever little raccoon hands."" A successor of sorts to Where Is Squirrel? (1979), and equally without internal interest or overall point.
