Miss Cobble's garden shears threaten the safety of the honeysuckle patch where Baby Bunny lives with Mother Bunny. Unlike Beatrix Potter's Mr. MacGregor, Miss Cobble could be won over. She too winds up using Mother Bunny's pet name for Baby -- ""honey bunny."" Relieving touches of humor fail to cut the sugar, Emerald Enjoyed the Moonlight"" was this author/illustrator's last book and we enjoyed Emerald but this is a typical bunny book with a lingering sweetness that is a flavor favorite of some very small children and some very fond grandmothers. Mr. Fleishman's animals figures are colorful and realistically well drawn but Miss Cobble is cartooned.
