KIRKUS REVIEW

This success story of a run-down Central Park horse and carriage team isn't very funny. Josie the horse, and Mr. O'Flaherty her driver are hungry and look so bedraggled that no one will take a ride- for $5.00- so they can buy dinner. Then a lady loses her hat. People chase it, it gets to Josie who bites, the lady is resigned to the loss and some people come along and are charged $6.00 for a ride with a now more perky, bonneted horse. Dinner follows but by then we've lost our appetites.
