CANDY KANK

You'll like Candy Kane, from the gay jacket to the final page when the drab little sparrow turns out to be a nightingale. It is not a routine story, however, for Candy is not a routine child. She's been the neglected and unwanted younger sister, but she is the only one who gleefully abandons New York and goes with her soldier father to keep house for him in the officer's quarters. And she makes friends of everyone and makes a place for herself in this new world. When her spoiled sister and mother turn up, Candy's loyalty is taxed. But she wins through, for herself and her friends.
