Sophisticated city dwellers would be surprised at how eventful life in a sleepy western town could be. To Beryl Corning, Cinnebar, with its remnants of Indian culture and its valuable artifacts was a very exciting place indeed -- especially a summer stock company had taken up residence in the center of town. Beryl's summer job in the souvenir gift shop inadvertently provides work for many of her friends when she convinces the owner to stock authentic regional crafts. With her part time work as a prop girl and a budding romance with one of the actors. Beryl's life is complete -- until her father's mine is soil rich out-of-towner. Back to the roots for the Cornings, namely the ghosttown of Milas, a sorry sight to modern young Beryl. Yet her appreciation of her background is the factor which in the end inspires her father's change of heart and a return to A well-paced story which is characterized primarily by its rich setting.
