KIRKUS REVIEW

Schulman and Davick team up again for a sequel to their 10 Trick-or-Treaters (2008), starring the same crowd of cheerful children with a theme of decorating the Christmas tree. Using a counting-book structure, the children add ornaments to the tree, moving from one star on top to ten presents underneath. The short, rhyming text is clever, and the computer-generated illustrations are amusing, but organizational problems in the illustrations will be confusing to readers. Ornaments called Santa’s elves are really elf hats, a stray snowman shows up on the tree before the page calling for snowmen, and a little girl dressed as an angel as she adds three angels to the tree makes the total number of angels appear to be four rather than three. Nine candles on the mantelpiece menorah add to the perplexing issues. (Picture book. 2-5)
