The man in a hurry is Todd Randall, President of J.L. Stevens, a Los Angeles department store, and as he observes somewhereas along the line here, it's not the merchandise it's the people who present problems. Honest in his principles, but ruthless in his techniques, Randall manhandles most of the situations which come up; the ""retirement"" of an elderly employee; the non-cooperation of Greg Mastors, a floor manager, interested-as is Randall, in Liz Cooper- their personnel director; the saleswoman who brings a sex assault charge against one of the management. Then there's his trouble with Angela, the predatory daughter of Joe Stevens, still the store's owner; the question of the succession, stock interest, and Randall's possible ouster; and finally whether Liz, who has been a softening influence, will herself yield to the offer of marriage Randall extendes.... Make haste- indeed, it's commonplace to common stuff.
